Mia Lazarus
Mia Lazarus (b. 2003, Johannesburg) is a Sydney-based artist whose practice explores how abstraction can mirror the rhythms and transformations of the natural world. Through acrylic pours, oil paint and textural materials such as wood shavings, she creates layered surfaces shaped by a dialogue between intuition, chance and control. Guided by organic forms and alchemical processes, her paintings seek to embody rather than depict nature, capturing its vitality, fragility, and continual state of becoming. Each work becomes a site of encounter, recording movement and sensorial energy. Lazarus has participated in multiple group exhibitions across Sydney, with works now held in private collections nationally and internationally.
