Alessia Zanetti

Alessia Zanetti (b. 1986, Italy) is an Eora/Sydney-based artist whose practice has evolved from large-scale commercial murals to oil on canvas. Her contemporary figurative works merge the vivid colour and hyperreal clarity of her mural background with a more expressive, gestural approach. Drawing on film noir and German Expressionism, she employs unusual angles and dramatic contrasts of light and shadow to heighten narrative tension. Through this lens, Zanetti explores themes of moral ambiguity, situating her subjects within the shifting atmospheres of contemporary Sydney.
