Gina Rhee is a Sydney-based Australian artist of Korean background whose work delves into the unsettling beauty of the abject. Through dark, textured acrylic paintings, she explores the human body as both a vessel of life and a reminder of decay, revealing the fragile line between beauty and repulsion. Her imagery evokes unease, vulnerability, and reflection on mortality. An emerging artist, Rhee has exhibited at the 2022 HSC Art Exhibition at Pacific Hills Christian School and continues to shape a practice that invites viewers to confront the haunting elegance of impermanence.
