Ferim Orucu

Born in 1970, Ankara, Türkiye, Ferim Orucu has a background in Ancient History/Egyptology, Anthropology, Communications and Philosophy and currently undertaking study to complete her BFA in Painting at the National Art School, Sydney. She has participated in a group exhibition titled “Love” at the Good Space Gallery, Chippendale on 14th of February 2024. Ferim Orucu completed her MA in Egyptology/Ancient History at Macquarie University in April 2006 with which she has a Postgraduate Certificate in Research Preparation. Ferim has an MA Degree in Social Anthropology in 1994 with the University of Ankara Faculty of Language, History and Geography and a BA degree in Public Relations with the University of Ankara Press-Broadcast Institute Faculty of Communications in 1992. Ferim Orucu’s multimedia practice explores the mediating characteristics of mythology and rituals in prompting philosophical inquiries regarding existential themes of human condition and their transformative power with regards to the search and acquisition of wisdom.
