Leah Zhang

Leah Zhang (b. 2005) is a Sydney-born artist living and working on Bidjigal and Gadigal land. Zhang’s works derive from comprehending the world around her, the dynamics between the familiar and unfamiliar, thinking about how opposites coincide with one another and not apart. She explores this through the public and private spaces of suburbia, producing composite paintings of 'inside outside' spaces. Her works invite the audiences to configure themselves inside the paintings, questioning their innate nature and to ask what bounds them to their personal spaces.
