Rose Blunt

Rose (b. 1998) is a Sydney-based artist working in sculptural spatial installation. Currently completing her third year of the Bachelor of Fine Art (Sculpture) at the National Art School, she received the Dr John Vallance Prize for Sculpture in 2024. Her practice explores ritual, adornment, magic and transformation through a contemporary lens. Her installations evoke the girl’s room, the change room, the coven: lipstick becomes a wand, lace robes a cape.  Guided by intuition, she assembles objects and improvised materials – wooden structures, hair, colour, fabric, pins, clips - into shifting, responsive, environments that hold memory, magic, and feminine lineage.
