Tom Timbrell

Born 2005 at RPA Hospital, Tom Timbrell grew up in Marrickville, Sydney, Australia. Tom’s experience of childhood was symptomatic of a generational experience stemming from the shadow of the Twin Towers in the TV age. Earliest memories include the Kevin Rudd Apology speech, the Black Saturday bushfires and the Battle of Ajdabiya, all mediated through the TV. As a result of him being raised so aware, his art has been heavily steeped in political themes acting as a form of outsider protest art, intending to call bullshit on the whole damn system.
