Marnie Tomczyk

Marnie Tomczyk

Marnie Tomczyk (b.1984) is a Blue Mountains–based artist working across printmaking, performance, and text. She merges conceptual thinking with material practice, using found materials and simple, at-hand technologies. Her work resists conceptual art’s dematerialisation by centring affect, touch, and the body’s material conditions. Influenced by Wet Conceptualism and Hélène Cixous’ feminine ecriture, she explores how meaning accrues through pressure, endurance, and refusal. Her work is held in private collections and in the public collections of RMIT, Curtin University, the University of Southern Queensland, and the National Art School.
