Josie Kearney

Josie Kearney is a multidisciplinary artist residing on unceded Gadigal land (Sydney). In dialogue with printmaking, performance, and installation, she draws upon feminist ideologies to explore how the body moves under instruction: to wash, to smile, to fold, to hold still, and how behaviour shifts under observation. Her works examine where obedience falters, where endurance becomes a form of refusal within systems of looking. Kearney performed at Carriageworks with Kudos Live (Performance Space x UNSW). She received the 2024 Ellen Lee O'Shaughnessy Printmaking Award and co-facilitates Pinpoint, an artist-run initiative at NAS. Kearney’s works are included in the collections of Curtin University, RMIT, and the University of South Queensland.
