Janet Jiahui Wu

Janet Jiahui Wu

Janet Jiahui Wu is a Chinese-Australian queer poet and visual artist whose work bridges language, image, and material. Drawing on her Chinese heritage, neurodivergence, and LGBTQIA+ experience as a first-generation migrant, she explores belonging, identity, and the real through mark making, poetics, and sculpture. Guided by gesture, texture, memory, and narrative, her art gives form to the invisible, tracing emotional histories and relational spaces. Embracing simplicity, imperfection, and truth, Wu’s pieces hold opposites in tension while inviting contemplation of nature, feeling, and transformation. She lives and works in Sydney on unceded Gadigal land.
