Luuk Zilich

Luuk Zilich

Luuk Zilich is an emerging Sydney-based artist whose practice investigates the intersection of material, intuition, and identity. Working with found and discarded materials such as brick, limestone, and Hebel, he transforms them using traditional hammer-and-chisel techniques, revealing a balance between natural form and artistic intervention. His process allows the materials to guide the work, often producing faces, patterns, and forms that reflect memory and subconscious thought. Drawing on his Māori and Dutch heritage, Zilich engages with site, audience, and cultural context, further developing the dialogue between object, maker, and viewer.
