Caitlin Galvez
I am a ceramic artist focused on creating artefacts with the use of porcelain, with environmental concern at the forefront. The use of repetition in form allows the viewer to reflect on the prevalence of plastic and rubbish in their lives and the inescapable use of it. My process has involved mold making as an introspection on the rubbish found within my own recycling bin, creating a long process to replicate these items in porcelain, which holds a longer place in the world than their plastic counterparts.
