Jasmine Greenwood

Jasmine Greenwood (b. 1994) is a biracial Tongan artist from Western Sydney on Dharug Land. Her practice explores ancient Pasifika cartography and way finding skills, inspired by her patrilineal ancestry. Greenwood presents this as her ongoing series ‘Te Lapa’ that follows the process of emotional mapping through sculptural and mark making expression. Through her works she aims to reconnect ancient skills with contemporary expression. Greenwood is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the National Art School, where her studio practices are primarily in ceramics. Currently focusing on the testing and experimental process of saggar firing Greenwood’s aim is to make marks from recycled, organic scraps.
