Sophie Sheppard
Sophie Sheppard is a Sydney based multidisciplinary artist working across ceramics and drawing. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts and attends the National Art School. Her ceramic practice explores independent testing and process as a means of tactile meditation and control, taking on an almost scientific approach to art making; while indulging in the childlike curiosity and excitement that comes with discovery. Related is Sheppard's drawing practice, which implements independent methods and physical research. Her illustration work seeks to engage child audiences through folkloric narratives and traditional illustration.
